This group consists of registered nurses, registered mental nurses and nursing program graduates (graduation nurses). They provide direct nursing care to patients, provide health education programs, and provide counseling services related to nursing practice issues. They are employed in a variety of environments including hospitals, nursing homes, extended care facilities, rehabilitation centers, doctors' offices, clinics, community agencies, companies, private homes and public and private organizations or they can be self-employed.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- This group performs some or all of the following tasks:
- Registered nurse
- Assess patients to determine appropriate nursing interventions
- Coordinate with members of an interdisciplinary health group to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families
- Manage medications and treatments according to a doctor's prescription or according to established policies and regimens
- Monitor, evaluate, address, record and report symptoms and changes in the patient's condition
- Operating or supervising medical apparatus or equipment
- Support for surgery and other medical procedures
- Licensed practice nurses and other nursing staff may be supervised
- It is possible to develop and implement a hospital discharge planning process upon admission
- Can teach and advise patients and their families about health-related issues in collaboration with other health care providers.
- Registered nurses can specialize in areas such as surgery, obstetric care, psychiatric care, critical care, pediatrics, geriatrics, public health, occupational health, emergency care acute, rehabilitation or cancer.
- Occupational nurse
- Develop and implement employee health education programs and provide registered nursing care in private and industry businesses.
- Community nurse
- Provides registered health education and nursing care at public health units and through home visits, manages complex home care cases, participates in the needs assessment of community and program development, conduct disease screening and offer immunization programs.
- Mental nurse
- Provides nursing care, support counseling and life skills programming for patients in mental hospitals, mental health clinics, long-term care facilities and community-based facilities.
- Nursing advice
- Provides counseling services to institutions, associations and health care organizations on issues and concerns related to nursing careers and nursing practice.
- Research nursing
- Participate in nursing-related research activities, such as being self-employed or hired by hospitals, public and private organizations and government.
- Clinical nurse
- Provides leadership, advice and advice on providing research-based care to specific patient groups in the care of specific health care organizations.
