6 skills a professional architect should have
1. Good communication
When asked about the important skills of an architect, people often consider some of the more explicit skills, called soft skills. Most people need to master a lot of soft skills to succeed in a career.
One of the most important soft skills is good communication skills. Communication creates the power of every profession you work in. Architects need to be able to present vision and communicate with stakeholders. This skill is especially necessary when they are working in teams to collaborate effectively. Good communication is one of the golden skills that every architect must have, so always try and train yourself well.
2. Knowledge of the law
As an architect, a bit of knowledge about the legal framework for infrastructure is extremely important. Building codes and building laws will affect the architecture you design and the way you design. You may need to speak up to remind other team members about the law when preparing to work on the new design. Always updating the legal knowledge will greatly support your work. There is nothing worse than having to redraw the blueprint because the building codes have changed.
3. Math knowledge
Many architectures are attracted to the design part. Can you imagine that this work requires more ingenuity and artistry than engineers or construction workers. However, solid mathematical knowledge is still essential. Your design should be based on accurate measurement and proper proportions if it is to be implemented in practice. Math is probably not your favorite subject but if you try to study, you will certainly improve if you have the dream of becoming a talented architect.
4. Technical knowledge
Like the role of math, you also need technical knowledge. Some designs may be more complex than others, but you still need to be realistic. Be aware that things that are feasible in the field of engineering or design that may otherwise be not approved during group meetings. While engineering colleagues still need to guide you to better designs, a little knowledge of technical principles will help you work more effectively.
5. Knowledge of fine arts
You don't need to create a second "Mona Lisa", but you still need some art or painting skills if you want to succeed on the path to becoming a talented architect.
The ability to draw is shown by drawing on paper or by brushing on a canvas. Most architects are able to visualize the work they are designing, even without a sketch. This ability includes an element of abstract thinking because you are imagining things when they don't exist.
6. Leadership skills
As an architect, you can lead the design team and collaborate with many others. Some are even directing the vision for the new project. You will probably manage a few team members as you move from the initial blueprint to the blueprint to deploy. If you develop leadership skills along with the other skills above, it means that you are nurturing to become a successful architect in the future.
Just like an architect, the job of a graphic designer also has the same basic skills requirements. Because a graphic designer also requires skills, art knowledge, engineering, math and also creative artists. So if you intend to become a graphic designer, don't miss out on what the graphic designer is doing.
And for you candidates who are applying for a job applying to become an architect, this is definitely a useful article for you. Employers are very interested in the skills of candidates, as well as the position of an architect. If in your CV you have these skills, the employer will definitely appreciate you.
