1. Objective course

With the Advanced Vietnamese Course, students will achieve the following goals in Vietnamese:

• Based on basic Vietnamese, grasp more vocabulary, sentence structure, and contextual style to convey Vietnamese in the best way
• Students grasp vocabulary, grammar rules, and speech patterns of its necessary and sufficient variations, reflecting the characteristics of Vietnamese, ensuring correctness and appropriateness to the "usage habits" of native speakers
• Students can communicate well in life and work to serve well the needs of studying, working, doing business, traveling, and investing
• Students are trained in 4 advanced skills: LISTENING, SPEAKING, READING, WRITING - creating momentum to move on to the complete Vietnamese language program
• Students can integrate into the Vietnamese community environment in a more comprehensive and profound way.
• After completing the course, students can work in many different fields: researching and teaching Vietnamese at institutes, universities, and Vietnamese training centers. Students can also take on jobs related to Vietnamese such as: editing and translating at foreign embassies, press agencies, etc. at home and abroad.

2. Course contents

Advanced Vietnamese course materials include: Advanced Vietnamese 1, Advanced Vietnamese 2 ,3

• At the advanced level, teachers need to focus on expanding vocabulary, similar and different sentence patterns to develop logical thinking, and improve students' skills. The existing advanced courses, although still lacking in some aspects, are all built in association with the cultural, social and human characteristics of Vietnam; The topics of readings and conversations are to introduce customs, cultural behavior, scenic spots, etc. Therefore, new words or sentence patterns at this level are difficult for students to understand. However, at this level, students can develop and assemble simple words and sentence patterns learned at the basic level into complex sentences, then link sentences into meaningful paragraphs and can also watch and listen to short news reports, film clips, etc.
• The teaching method in the Advanced Vietnamese course is clearly updated in each lesson, with a specific structure:
• The warm-up part: Opening each lesson to create a natural atmosphere, focusing the attention of students
• The discussion part: Contributing to encouraging students to speak and think in Vietnamese
• The information part: Providing students with necessary experiences and knowledge when living in Vietnam
• The exercises, practices, reading comprehension exercises as well as homework are expanded and improved to develop and strengthen the skills: LISTENING - SPEAKING - READING - WRITING of students. The necessary vocabulary and grammar system along with a series of popular topics help students grasp Vietnamese and apply communication effectively. At the end of the course, students will take a proficiency test and evaluate the quality of the teacher's teaching

7. Estimating learning time

• Depending on the candidate, after the test, MIS will immediately notify each student of the expected results via email, study duration is 1.5 hours per session, 02 sessions/week [weekdays from Monday to Saturday, optional]
