See Aboriginal rock art

Kakadu is home to an Aboriginal rock art dating back 20,000 years, one of the longest historical records for any group of people in the world. The art site at Ubirr, 39 km (24 miles) from the town of Kakadu of Jabiru, can be reached via a circular kilometer (0.6 miles) walk easily. The galleries reveal some of the world's best examples of traditional X-ray art. At Ubirr, climb a moderate 250 meters (820 feet) to Nadab Lookout, which offers great views across the floodplain, especially at sunset. The rock art at Nourlangie is equally impressive. At the center of Kakadu are dramatic wetlands rich in rare flora and fauna. The Golden Water billabong lies at the end of Jim Jim Creek, a tributary of the South Alligator River, and is considered one of the best places to see Australia's wildlife in its natural habitat. Take a yellow water journey for the ultimate wild experience. Canopies will steer you through tranquil waters, where you'll see saltwater crocodiles, sea eagles, whistling ducks and buffaloes crossing floodplains. Swim under waterfalls or fly above them

Among Kakadu's many waterfalls, Jim Jim waterfall and Twin waterfall are the most spectacular. From the parking lot, walk 900 meters (0.6 miles) through monsoon forests and boulders, to deep pools surrounded by magnificent 150 meters (492 feet) high cliffs. With its white sandy beach and cool water, this is a popular swimming spot. Twin Falls is a split waterfall that flows down the cliff face. The best way to see the falls is on a boat that takes you to the canyon or on a scenic flight. Ferry tickets are available from Garnamarr Campground, while scenic flights depart from Jabiru Airport in Kakadu National Park, and will take you above both Jim Jim and Twin Falls.
