BOOKING TRAVEL IMMIRATION / TOURISM YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

Yosemite National Park, California Travel Guide
Yosemite National Park has been a national treasure for over 125 years. This is the natural creation of crushed granite glaciers that create spectacular mountains and valleys in the Sierra Nevada. Scattered on the rocks are waterfalls, and beautiful meadows between the forests. These ancient giant sequoias contrast sharply with the vibrant blue lakes and gray white rocks. The most famous feature of Yosemite is the Half Dome, a huge granite surface spread out on one location and enough slope to walk on the other.

Ansel Adams produced the most famous picture of Yosemite starting in 1927 with the iconic image of Half Dome. He called the valley "a sparkling wonder of green and gold in a vast building of stone and space." A collection of his works can be found in Yosemite village.

You can explore hundreds of miles of hiking trails, horseback riding, cross-country skiing or snow boots. Backpackers can extend their stay in the far corners of the park. Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias near the south entrance is a very popular attraction. In 2015 and 2016, the forest will undergo restoration work, restricting access but ensuring tree survival.

More than 95% of Yosemite National Park is designated as Wilderness, meaning no permanent structures or other services are allowed. If you like roughing it, go into this unexplored part of the park that opens up hundreds of square miles of unspoiled terrain linked by a comprehensive network of trails. Trails continue into remote outlying areas, including the Emigrant Wilderness Area, Hoover and Ansel Adams and the Sierra, Inyo, Toiyabe and Stanislaus National Forest.

A free backcountry license is required for overnight stays at Yosemite. Licenses are limited and in high demand. Reservations can be made, but the park also reserves 40% of the available space on a first-come, first-served basis.

For those less inclined to walk in the wilderness, there's Tioga Road, a 39-mile scenic path across the mountains seen from Yellowstone Valley as it connects the Big Oak Flat Entrance to the west with Entrance to Tioga Pass in the east. The higher altitude means Tioga Pass is closed in winter and spring until the snow melts, but when a spectacular 39-mile road is opened, it offers stunning views and stunning views.

There are four entrances to Yosemite: West via Highway 140, South via Highway 41, North via Highway 132 and East via Highway 395 to 120. Highway 120 is an East-West Road through the park in the middle. All roads lead to Yosemite and Half Dome, to the west of the park, making the East Gate the longest route and the only place to close in the fall and winter due to snow.

Yosemite National Park is located east of central California, 135 miles southeast of Sacramento. Nearby ski resorts include Badger Pass (located in the park), Mammoth Mountain and Sierra Summit.

All areas of the park are usually accessible by car in late May or early June. The park is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, although some roads may be closed. in winter (usually October to May). Entrance fee for the park is $ 20 per vehicle and good for 7 days. The best time to visit is spring or autumn, when the crowds are thinner.
