Follow these steps to register a permanent resident card (PR card). If you forget something, your application will be sent back to you. You will then have to submit a new application.

1. Get the apk

Two photos that meet our photo specifications

Any other identifying documents listed in the Document Checklist (see application package),

A copy of the invoice for processing fee, and

A solemn statement if your PR card is lost, stolen, destroyed or you did not receive it within 180 days after immigrating to Canada.

Please make sure your pictures follow our specifications. Print our photo specifications (PDF, 204 KB) and take it with you when you take photos.

2. Pay your application fee

You have to pay to register the PR card online.

To pay online, you need:

A valid email address and

A credit or debit card.

After you pay, print your receipt and include it with your application.

3. Submit your application

Make sure you:

Answer all the questions

Sign your application and all forms,

Include your payment receipt and

Includes all supporting documents.

Cancel Canadian permanent resident card

To withdraw your application for permanent residence, submit your request using the web form.

Your customer ID number (if applicable)

Copy of electronic payment invoice or copy of both sides of payment invoice (Form IMM5401)

Reason for withdrawing money

Keep a copy of your withdrawal request for your profile.
