You will need a visa if you enter Australia on a journey.
If your itinerary is round-trip, the time you spend on it is counted as time in Australia - meaning we don't consider you to have left Australia. A round trip will not reset your stay on your visa.
Ask your tour operator or travel agent if we consider your itinerary a round trip.
How long can you stay
This is a temporary visa. We can grant it for up to 12 months.

You may not be granted the stay you want.
Generally, we issue this visa with only one entry allowed. This means that after you leave Australia, you need to apply for another visa before you can return.

You cannot stay in Australia longer by extending this visa. You must apply for another visa.
You cannot apply for a new visa because your visa will be conditional on 8503, there is no need to stay. In limited circumstances, you may ask to waive the condition of not staying any longer.
You must not violate condition 8531, do not stay in Australia beyond the visa duration, if it applies to your visa.

Travel
If we issue your visa with multiple entries, you can travel outside Australia and return as many times as you wish while the visa is valid.
If we issue you a single entry visa and you leave Australia, you cannot re-enter the visa. You must apply for another visa to return.
