- Carr Farming is an innovative family owned and operated poultry farming enterprise. Established at this site in 2014, our farming operations now comprise 40 modern broiler sheds. Carr Farming have been operating in the poultry industry for over 35 years and has a major contract with one of the largest broiler chicken companies in Australia.
- We pride ourselves in having a high level of animal welfare and our farms are RSPCA approved. Animal husbandry is an important part of farm management. We recruit and promote staff who care about animals, meaning we attract good people. All staff are hands on to ensure that they have daily integration with their birds. We have more staff to tend to the birds than most businesses in the industry, which we believe to be essential to provide 24/7 care for our birds.
The Role:
- Carr Farming is recruiting for a Farm Supervisor for one of our 10 shed broiler farms at Elbow Valley (Warwick) in Queensland.
- You will assist the Farm Manager in ensuring that all operational duties of production are completed to a high standard. Being a part of a small team, this role requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated, genuinely committed to the role and flexible to assist in achieving company objectives. The position requires that you live on site.
- Working in conjunction with the Farm Manager, you will be overseeing the production of batches of 500,000 broiler chickens. This will involve following intensive farming guidelines including constant supervision of the animals, achieving key milestones regarding animal weights, feed and water consumption, lighting and environmental factors.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will be:
- a “hands on” leader who leads by way of example;
- able to monitor systems and procedures to ensure efficiency;
- a sound overview of all RSPCA requirements;
- sound computer knowledge; and
- able to maintain appropriate records.
Formal qualifications or experience in animal husbandry or farming would be an advantage.
