We grow delicious Australian Black tiger prawns - Join our Harvest Team in the new year, for a January start!
These short-term seasonal positions (casual) will be based from our largest prawn farm and production facility located in Proserpine, reporting to our Harvest Manager.
Working in conjunction with our passionate, hard -working team, your mission should you choose to accept it, will be playing a vital role to support the business in harvesting high quality, healthy and sustainable prawns out of our ponds.
You will enjoy working in an outdoor environment in this hands on role; purposefully extracting our product from our ponds through safe, effective harvest operational activities working together effectively with a One Team approach, providing timely delivery of high-quality product to our Processing Operation, resulting in an effective and productive Harvest season.
We have several different roles available that will support our partial and drain harvests this season, whether it be in the water with our nets, working closely with our team in one of the machine's (in and out) or being our effective communicator driving our premium quality prawns from the ponds liaising with our processing plant receivables team.
You will contribute in a positive and proactive manner, whilst working in accordance with Tassal’s operating procedures and Safety vision, achieving a high-quality farming operation with optimum prawn performance.
You
- ability and experience working whole shifts in hot, humid and wet environmentss
- capable and comfortable getting into ponds that are approx chest height
- physically able to lift and move nets around and above the water
- a flexible, can do attitude, self-motivated and reliable
- commitment to achieving results as a team
- curious to learn how and why
- good observational skills and amazing attention to detail
- strong sense of personal responsibility with the ability to follow procedures inline with our Zero Harm Culture
- ability to work variety of shifts - early, day or afternoon
- Excavation, Backhoe, HR driver's license (advantageous)
You will have had experience working in a farming environment previously or hands on physical labouring work; with the ability to get to site (with a drivers licence) each shift.
This working environment will be fast paced and is not for the faint hearted or somebody who wants to sit in a machine all day - we will be working together, as a team for an effective and productive Harvest season.
