Poultry Farm Worker

- Baiada is a privately owned Australian Company providing premium quality poultry products throughout Australia. We operate throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia with our Head Office based in Pendle Hill. Our brands include Lilydale Free Range and Steggles and we have a proud reputation for upholding traditional family oriented values. At Baiada Poultry our primary objective is to provide our customers with the highest quality products and excellent service.
- We are seeking motivated people with care and attention to detail to perform various farm tasks such as collecting eggs and handling chickens. Farms are located in the Mid North and Barossa Valley regions of South Australia.
- Successful candidates will be able to work independently and also as part of a team. Poultry industry experience is not essential. All training and support will be provided.
- This role is a permanent position or provides an entry level opportunity for those interested in a career in a dynamic and fast-growing industry. There are opportunities within the company for career progression. Poultry industry experience is not essential. All training and support will be provided.
Key responsibilities:
- Collecting, grading and packing eggs;
- Handling chickens for weighing and vaccination;
- Assisting with brooding of day old chicks, feeding chickens and general farm tasks as required;
- Monitoring flock behaviour and reporting concerns to the Farm Manager or supervisor;
- Meeting performance and quality assurance targets; and
- Following company policies and procedures with regard to animal welfare, workplace health and safety, environment and biosecurity.

- Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team; and
- A genuine interest in working with animals.
We support diversity in the workplace. Flexible working arrangements can be accommodated, including part-time, full-time and casual hours. Weekend work is also available. Start and finish times can be negotiated to accommodate personal circumstances.
Applicants must have a current driver’s license and must not have any pet birds, poultry or pigs at their place of residence. They must also not live with anyone who has contact with these species. Further information on quarantine and biosecurity requirements will be provided at the interview stage.
