Position: Bricklayer
Full-time Permanent. Wage: $36.00/hour.
Location of work: various locations within Chilliwack, BC and Fraser Valley region
Job requirements:
- Experience: at least 2 years working with brick, block, and natural and artificial stone veneers
- Education: High school or equivalent
- Language of work: English
Job Duties of a Bricklayer include:
- Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units
- Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing
- Construct and install prefabricated masonry units
- Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools
- Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required
Additional Skills include:
- Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
- Instruct apprentices
- Estimate materials, labour, tools and equipment
- Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities involve:
- Handling heavy loads
- Physically demanding
- Standing for extended periods
- Bending, crouching, kneeling
