Position: Labourer
Responsibilities:
- Sweeping surfaces prior to laying asphalt
- Brushing hot and cold asphalt products over surfaces to be paved and repaired
- Spraying emulsions on surfaces prior to paving
- Shoveling asphalt mix into areas inaccessible to machines
- Erecting and dismantling barricades
- Providing assistance to all members of the paving crew
- Follow and adhere to all the Company’s safety procedures and directives
- Responsible to ensure all work is completed in a safe manner
- Perform work in outdoor construction site setting
- Act in a courteous manner in order to project a positive company image
- Assist with other duties as required from time to time Abilities required
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Must be able to communicate well with co-workers
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a preference given to those holding a class 3 with air, or higher
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
- Work overtime as required, some night and weekend shifts may be required
Qualifications:
- Other paving experience would be an asset, but not required
- High School Graduate preferred, but not mandatory
