Position: Production Workers
Job Purpose:
- To ensure that product is handled and kept in compliance with all internal policies, GMP and local and Federal Food Regulations (CFIA / HACCP).
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work on the production line with consistent speed and accuracy
- Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently
- Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality
- Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
- Follow all written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrate a positive a professional attitude
- Packaging and further processing of bone in and bone out products that would meet the company, CFIA and customer specifications
Requirements:
- Must be able to work grave yard shift with a start time between 9:30pm and midnight
- Must be able to work in refrigerated environment ranging from 0-10 degrees Celsius
- Possess a high school diploma preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Fluent English – spoken and written. Legible handwriting a must.
- Basic math, reading and writing skills
- Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines at all times
- Physically capable of manual labour that includes lifting, bending and reaching
- Able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work 8hrs shifts standing
- Able to work around machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Previous poultry experience considered an asset
- Previous packaging experience considered an asset
- Certificate in WHIMIS and Food Safety considered an asset
- Applicants with a valid Occupational First Aid Level 2 Certificate will be given preference
Working Conditions:
- Flexible work schedule from time to time.
- Overtime as required.
- Exposure to wet/cold conditions – potential for ice and slippery working conditions.
- Exposure to excessive noise.
- Physically demanding – required long periods of walking/standing
