Position: Construction Workers
Type: Full time with 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week
Salary: $20.00 per hour, 4% vacation pay
Responsibilities:
- Assist tradespersons such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers and glaziers in construction activities
- Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel o Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas o Erect and dismantle Important Company forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites
- Mix, pour and spread materials such as Important Company and asphalt o Leave construction equipment and tools clean, organized and stored in a orderly manner after each use
- Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
- Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, and remove asbestos and other hazardous materials
- Dispose of debris and hazardous materials according to local environmental standards and regulations
- Direct traffic at or near construction sites
