Position: Skilled Painters and Labourers
Salary: $18-$32 hourly
Full Time, Part Time, Casual, Permanent
Responsibilities:
- High attention to detail to ensure the safety and quality of all job-related activities are fully met
- Reading and adhering to all labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
- Removing paint coating, smoothing, sanding, and preparing all surfaces, cleaning, and taping
- Mixing colours or oils to obtain desired colour or consistency
- Applying various coats of finishes to any structure, including paint, varnish, stain, enamel, lacquer, primers or sealers
- Moving necessary materials around jobsite as assigned
- Cleaning of jobsite debris, including exterior home cleaning such as driveways, windows and gutters
- Receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers
- Managing jobsite materials, supplies, and personnel workflow to ensure the highest level of operational efficiency so that all project schedules, timelines and budgets are fully met
This position may include special safety demands, mental demands, physical demands and environmental factors including:
- Following established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including frequent walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools to established safety procedures and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Work outside and inside; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, ladders, and scaffolding; and around machinery with moving parts.
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, excessive noises, fumes, and toxic chemicals.
- Store, handle and dispose of all products and other chemicals according to established procedures.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Frequent district-wide travel. Driving is preferred.
