Position: Carpenters and apprentices
Full Time, Permanent
We are looking for Candidates that fit the following attributes:
- Be in good health and physically fit
- Completion of WHMIS 2015 and/or CSTS 09
- Have a valid Fall Protection certificate
- Have a valid drivers licence and reliable Vehicle
- Experience with a variety of forming systems including, Peri, Aluma, Camlock and traditional Gang forms.
- The desire to make a positive contribution in the workplace by being punctual, interested in the job, and adhering to workplace policies, procedures, and safety practices
- Able to work safely at heights and balance on platforms, scaffolds and decks
- Be able to take directions from Supervisors
- Able to regularly lift and move 50+ pound objects during a shift
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle carpentry and formwork materials
- Knowledge and understand of tools and equipment e.g. Skill saws, chop saws, table saws, impact wrenches, impact drills, lazer levels
- . * Be able to work efficiently alone or with a group
- Carry out measurements and calculations
- Experience with erecting and dismantling formwork for suspended slabs, columns, beams, cores, footings, walls, raft slabs, stairs
- Experience working with and signalling Tower cranes
- Experience working with and signalling Rough Terrain Forklifts
Other Information
- Must have reliable transportation and valid drivers licence
- Opportunities for work at multiple jobsites in various quadrants of the city
- Workers with First aid ticket would be considered an asset
Work Conditions
- This position is physically demanding and involves exposure to all elements of outdoor work. Hours of work for this position are based on a minimum of 44 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be available to work overtime, weekends and evenings as required. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to working safe on our jobsites.
